AMERICAN MEGATRENDS POWER THE TTX02

(AMI PRESS RELEASE)

ATLANTA, GEORGIA – American Megatrends (AMI), a leader in BIOS and computing innovations, proudly announces that its flagship BIOS firmware, AMIBIOS®8, has been selected as the BIOS of choice to power the Mavizen TTX02 electric superbike as it begins its fledgling campaign in the inaugural TTXGP electric superbike race series at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA, from May 14 to 16, 2010.

The Mavizen TTX02 is the world’s first production electric superbike, which combines a proven chassis from KTM with the electric drivetrain from the TTXGP-winning Agni bike, champion of the first ever “TTXGP 2009” on the legendary Isle of Man road course in 2009. AMIBIOS8 firmware powers an ultra-mobile device with Intel Atom™ series processor integrated into the Mavizen TTX02 that controls battery life, power delivery and modulation, vehicle setup and diagnostics, GPS and vehicle performance data. AMI engineers have worked closely with the team behind the Mavizen TTX02 electric superbike to customize AMIBIOS8 for this application, and are currently outlining future plans for collaboration with Mavizen to further deepen the flexibility and customization potential of this platform.

The Mavizen TTX02 represents an exclusive opportunity to procure a race-ready platform through purchase or lease from Mavizen for development and racing across the entire TTXGP racing program. The TTXGP eGrandPrix is the new showcase world championship series for electric superbike racing. Mr. Azhar Hussain, CEO of Mavizen, is also the driving force behind the TTXGP, and his company acts as the technology, advisory and consulting arm of the race series.

“AMI has embraced this technology concept with open arms, and has been a great partner to Mavizen,” says Mr. Hussain, CEO of Mavizen. “From our first discussions, AMI immediately grasped what we were trying to do. The AMI team could see that the TTX02 is the first ‘130 mph laptop on wheels’, and wasted no time in putting the weight of their experience into this project. Their expertise in optimizing all kinds of mobile and ultra-mobile platforms has been crucial to making the computing backbone of our bike perform flawlessly. By working closely with AMI, a world leader in UEFI and BIOS solutions, we’re able to more quickly and efficiently customize the hardware platform powering our electric racebike.”

“AMI applauds the vision of trailblazers like Azhar Hussain, and is firmly committed to supplying them with cutting-edge technology and unparalleled support to help make their visions become reality,” says Subramonian Shankar, President and CEO of American Megatrends.  “We are very excited about being a part of the inaugural TTXGP event by providing our AMIBIOS8 firmware for the Mavizen TTX02, and will watch with great anticipation as our innovations help make the Mavizen TTX02 one of the lead competitors in the series. This is definitely a growing field in the world of motorsport and AMI has high hopes to be deeply involved, and grow together with it. We wish Mavizen and this new race series much success and look to see it capture the imagination of people around the world, as it has captured ours.”

AMI and Mavizen invite you to follow the inaugural TTXGP race from Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA throughout the weekend from May 14 – 16, 2010, and to be on the lookout for an opportunity to see the Mavizen TTX02 up close and personal in a sponsored demonstration of Mavizen, AMI and other technology leaders at an industry event near you soon.
